Service announcement
Very briefly (I have your comments pending in previous posts; I apologize, I'm giving more credence to the factories of discomfort—sewer and face-hole—but you are always in my heart), just to tell you that there's a decent chance (90%) that the re-edition/reprint of The Sunset will be presented at the next #goofy, which will take place on November 7th and 8th. Si parva licet , I don't think that if we still had Homer, the man who rendered the next three millennia of Western literature useless, he would even consider a re-edition of The Iliad. Classics are reprinted, not re-edited, not even when the author is alive, as I am in my lowest ebb. What is done, eventually, is to provide them with a critical apparatus, and so it will be done. We even have the launch slogan ready… but it's not what you think!
And now excuse me, I have to get ready for the Aria che tira (The Air That Pulls) and especially for the conference in Roccasondoli, or Riviraso (as you prefer to call it) (from Friday to Sunday with everyone else. I'll likely arrive the day before, and I'll give two talks: alone on Friday afternoon in Roccaraso, and with Minister Giorgetti aka Giancarlo on Saturday afternoon in Rivisondoli). I imagine many of you enjoy listening to me, otherwise you wouldn't be here. I think it's pretty clear that I enjoy it too. What comes before (so much study, so much checking of sources, so much dialogue with experts) is less enjoyable, but… no pain, no gain!
Over and out!
