Lady luck had landed me in a Department of Economics and History of the Territory (DEST) directed by a geographer with a long scientific and, as I later learned, political experience, who had made my own choice of love for Abruzzo and investment in Gabriele d'Annunzio many years before me and who became a friend, Piergiorgio Landini (you saw him at some of our conferences). What I know about the territory , how it is and how it should be, I learned above all there, as a thesis co-supervisor on territorial credit, on the geography of tourism, on infrastructural development and so on, organizing conferences on industrial districts or on economics of wine , as a speaker of industrial doctorates on reshoring, speaking with colleagues and entrepreneurs, and last but not least, as a person who has lived half of his time in Francavilla (going running on the beach, even in the snow, when doing it was allowed …).
The political experience as a senator of Abruzzo, therefore, did not find me unprepared, but it certainly made me grow further in awareness, and also gave me the pleasure of helping to solve, by listening, some small problems here and there , in a very large college.
Now I am on the eve of another probable qualitative leap in my choice of love for a land that deserves it and that does not receive from the national community the attention it should have and that only well-equipped representatives can bring it. I will go to the countryside with the 208 pages of my party's program, but I would like to build with those of you who live in the province of Chieti (and there is at least one: my former landlord!) A short list of topics that you consider priority for you: ten ideas to improve your life and that of your fellow citizens and to restore Chieti a centrality not only geographic.
I have my ideas: I am waiting for yours!
