WHAT ARCURI SAID IN PARLIAMENTARY HEARING YESTERDAY:

"So far Italy, through the emergency commissioner, has spent 94,039,176 euros which is the amount that the European Union has asked Italy to acquire the vaccines that have been prepared so far". The Commissioner for the emergency, Domenico Arcuri, said this during the hearing on the Budget Bill in the Budget Committees of the Chamber and Senate.
"Italy – he added – is entitled to 13.5% of the quantities of vaccines that are gradually contracted by the European Union".

The Italian plan for vaccination from Covid is not yet there, but it is already starting with the first delays. The Regions should have indicated to the Commissioner for the emergency Domenico Arcuri by "Friday 23 November" (in the letter sent by Arcuri on 17 November there is an error, Friday was actually 21 November) "suitable structures" in the 107 Italian Provinces , starting with hospitals, capable of storing Pfizer's vaccine, among the first to arrive and perhaps the most delicate to manage due to the need to ensure the cold chain (storage at -75 degrees). Last Friday, however, only 10 Regions responded, half therefore, which yesterday rose to 13. The new deadline for presenting the list of suitable structures has thus been moved to midnight yesterday.

These are the premises of the Italian plan that is emerging in these days and which, as admitted by the technicians of the Ministry of Health, will take its cue from the German one. Minister Roberto Speranza aims to present it already in the next few days in Parliament where, among other things, the "mandatory" issue of the vaccine will be discussed – it seems to point to a "recommendation" – as well as the categories that will have priority: the idea is that of vaccinating health workers first, by the elderly (especially in the RSA) and by the police.

More specifically, the Regions had to indicate to Commissioner Arcuri the hospitals where this first phase of administration will take place together with "mobile units" to vaccinate guests and operators for residential facilities for the elderly. Pfizer has assured that it will bring the doses directly to each administration point in special bags containing a maximum of 5 boxes of 975 doses each and that they will be able to guarantee storage for 15 days, but to store them for at least 6 months will need super cold rooms. Hence the need to indicate the "suitable" structures.

The Italian plan, which will be modeled on the one already adopted in Germany, should first of all provide for the introduction of an app for those who get vaccinated to verify the administration of the double dose and also the subsequent effects. After the first phase that will start from the hospitals, we will move on to the "mass vaccination" phase which could take advantage of the drive in where tampons are made today as well as maxi structures such as fairs and gyms. The knot has not yet been resolved if the army will also be employed.
