THE MILITARY CAREER

In the years 2003-2004, at the General Secretariat of Defense / National Directorate of Armaments, he held the position of Deputy Head of the III Department – Armaments Policy, participating in the decision-making and acquisition processes of arms in the various European contexts such as the Occar (Organization Conjointe de Coopération en matière d'armament) and LoI (Letter of Intent). During the same period he was the Italian representative to the FTPC (Future Tasks & Policy Committee) of the Occar and member, as well as Chairman, of the Executive Committee of the LoI. In December 2004 he was assigned to the European Defense Agency in Brussels as Director of Armaments and subsequently (from 2007 to 2010) as Deputy Executive Director – Strategy. In this capacity he was responsible for institutional relations with NATO, the European Commission, LoI, OCCAR and ASD (European Aerospace Industrial Association).

In the period 2011-2013 he held the position of Deputy Commander of the Air Squad at the Rome-Centocelle Airport.

INSTITUTIONAL DUTIES

From 13 August 2013 to 21 May 2014 he was Head of Cabinet of the Minister of Defense.
