The true 5-star aims of the Agora di Letta

The true 5-star aims of the Agora di Letta

Italics by Teo Dalavecuras

Nicola Oddone, reports Linkiesta , is the coordinator of the Agora, the invention of Goffredo Bettini made by Enrico Letta that should offer a different space to the political debate of the left. Linkiesta – an online newspaper located in an area that includes the left and the whole liberal democratic and progressive world, therefore rightly turned to Odo for clarification on the matter, and obtained the following response: "The Agora are the least traditional instrument and classic imaginable. They have as their engine the platform to which one must subscribe, they are freely promoted by anyone who wants to, they have few but clear operating requirements. Group or association Agora are not allowed. They are about concrete things, they must close with proposals that are then submitted to all the citizens of the Agora who have registered on the platform ”.

According to Linkiesta and Repubblica, the instrument of the Agora pursues the Machiavellian and very traditional purpose of "bringing back" to the "Ditta" the fraction of the Democratic Party that had come out of it years ago in hatred of Matteo Renzi. Incidentally, it is at least curious that the official leader of the far left group of the parliamentary arc is called Pierluigi Bersani, already known for a "sheet" of apparently liberal-style measures in 2007 with the Prodi government, but ours is still the country of the "parallel convergences" and the rapes of the Italian language, we have to get over it.

Apart from these aspects of high politics that I gladly leave to the experts, Odo's words are also interesting for their "ideological" content. In particular, the fact that "group or association Agora" are not allowed is a very untrue circumstance, and certainly not because it would make the Agora "the least traditional and classic instrument imaginable". As it is described, it would seem a copycatization of the Rousseau platform, but above all, the exasperated individualism which this initiative will openly inspire takes directly back to the initial and more radical phase of the French Revolution, that of the Le Chapelier Law which in the wake (among other things) of the ideas of Jean-Jacques Rousseau subordinated the right of citizens to gather to the essential condition that they did not do so in the name of an "alleged" common interest, giving life to those "intermediate bodies" that had been banished from a society governed exclusively by Reason (indeed, from the Goddess Reason ..).

We all know that the industrial and scientific revolution of the nineteenth century did justice to this individualistic delusion and the twentieth century was also the century of class struggle. Paradoxically, it took the "nibbler" work of consumerism to achieve the objectives of the revolutionaries of 1791 and to start, with the decisive support of digitalization, the transformation of our societies into shapeless aggregates of individuals without memory. In Italy, the first to ride this reality politically were the followers of Grillo and Casaleggio and their not unlikely inspirers.

This is to say that the strategy of Bettini and Letta intended to "acquire" (in the Anglo-Saxon sense of "merger and acquisition") the electorate of the Cinquestelle "federating" the management group starting with Giuseppe Conte, is not only a stratagem but, through the Agora, it reflects the conception of society of the current leadership group of the Democratic Party: an objectively much more individualistic conception than that of the good Carlo Calenda.
