The Germans are already fed up with Scholz and the “traffic light coalition”

According to a poll, the relative majority of citizens are dissatisfied with the actions of Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the conflict over the Russian war against Ukraine. In the YouGov survey reported by Zeit , 45 percent said they were rather dissatisfied or even very dissatisfied (25/20 percent). 37 percent are therefore rather or very satisfied with Scholz (28/9) in the conflict. 18 percent could not or did not want to value their actions. Only among SPD sympathizers did a different picture emerge: 59 percent of them were satisfied with Scholz and 34 percent dissatisfied.

Only 25% of the respondents appreciated the Chancellor's leadership in the Russian crisis – 51% said: "He behaves quite badly as a leader" (don't know / no answer: 24). His communication was rated even worse: 56% felt that he did not adequately explain his policy, 22% saw it differently (don't know / no answer: 22). Voters in the traffic light coalition also rate Scholz similarly in terms of leadership and communication, although their values ​​do not differ as widely as the population mean.

Overall, the coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP did even worse than the chancellor . Fifty percent of the respondents were quite or very dissatisfied with their actions in relation to the Russian war in Ukraine. The poll was made, however, before the recent news on the decision to sell the Gepard anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine, a choice that strongly moved German politics, so the impact on the opinion of the electorate is unknown.

Germans are quickly fed up with the mix of "Politically correct", costly environmental extremism and budget toughness that is the reason for this strange ruling coalition, born only to expel the CDU from positions of power. The Ukrainian crisis, the SPD's economic ties with Russia and the chancellor's fluctuating and bungled behavior completed the work. The Germans are ready to return to more reassuring roads, but the SPD will do everything to prevent the reversal, and even the CDU should cook the traffic light coalition a little longer.
