Today is the click day of this event , which means that before tomorrow it will be possible to register on the a/simmetrie website .
Two quick words to explain what it is about. We have invited four experts to the Chamber of Deputies to reflect on the economic and environmental sustainability of the "ecological transition". Two of these experts should be familiar to you: one is Gianclaudio Torlizzi, several times a guest, as well as a long-term member, of a/simmetrie, the other Roberta Benedetti, whom you will have seen in our webinar on Repower EU . The others are Massimo Nicolazzi (author of this fun and fundamental text ) and Simona Benedettini , energy economist. Four speakers of great scientific and expository quality. The idea is to provide "ar decision maker bolidigo" elements to decide not only according to conscience, but also and above all according to science (not to be confused with Lascienza ), or at least on the basis of data and not petitions of principle. Above all, data and professional experiences will be offered for reflection.
The event will take place in the Sala della Regina of Palazzo Montecitorio from 15:00 to 16:15 on Wednesday 24 May, and will be opened by greetings from President Fontana and myself and closed by the conclusions of President Gusmeroli and, at 16:00, by Minister Picetto Fratin. Eight interventions for about 7 minutes (negotiable) each, moderated by Fiorina Capozzi of Verità&Affari, who you also know.
It's not a goofy , it's not a midtermgoofy , it's a conference in the Chamber for which we have chosen the time of 3pm on Wednesday in order to allow colleagues who are not busy or interested in the question time to come and take a look, hoping that can hear something of interest to them.
The institutional context requires short times and a certain formalism: it is the price to pay for trying to be heard by "those who count", who, the more they count, the less time they have available. For those here, not everything that will be said will be surprising. Perhaps, the novelty is that we start saying them there instead of in a semi-clandestine webinar , and simply witnessing this leap in quality could be of interest to you.
If you want to be there, I remind you that the Chamber has a rather stringent security protocol:
- you will have to register (via the site a/simmetrie) because the entrances must have your name,
- you must have an identity document with you (if you do not have it, you will not be given the pass to access in exchange),
- you will have to submit to security checks similar to those of an airport (metal detector for you and X-rays for your bags and overcoats).
Given that the avoidable ballet of:
- pass the metal detector with the keys in your pocket,
- trigger the alarm,
- come back tripping over themselves,
- take the keys out of the pockets,
- ask where to put them,
- understand it,
- review,
- trigger the alarm again because you kept your phone in your other pocket,
- etc.
in reality it is inevitable (to avoid it, it would be enough to remember to leave all metal objects – mobile phones, keys, coins, diving knives, corkscrews, trowels, Stinger missile launchers – in your overcoat to have them X-rayed, or to place them in the tray next to the metal detector), knowing you well (you are still, however much we love you, those of the hailstorm of simultaneous translation receivers on the floor of the Montesilvano conference hall…), I would suggest to interested parties to go to the entrance well in advance della Camera, which is the main one located in Piazza di Monte Citorio 1.
A certain advance means from 14:00 to 14:45. The Sala della Regina is smaller than last time, but I think your interest in a happening of this size and nature is also less (net of scientific interest, from a "social" point of view it will be yes an opportunity to see the Chamber, but it will probably not offer the same spaces for conversing with each other that could be offered by more relaxed conferences held in other venues). I am not saying this to discourage you: if you come I am very pleased and your presence is not only welcome but also useful. But I'd be sorry if you were disappointed (although it would be a useful approach to the harshness of parliamentary life, which involves, among other things, not always being able to do exactly what one would like). Then maybe I'm wrong: in any case there should be a hundred places for you (but obviously there must also be places for my colleagues…).
Now I think you have all the information you need to adjust, except one: what time does the click day start? Too many (one) asked me last time, so it started at 23:59:59. You can't go further: it would become a click another day ! So, let's put it this way: if you don't ask me anything, click day could start a little earlier next time. If you ask me anything, surely this time can not start much later.
(… I told you to keep yourselves free for July 10th, but I have two further details to give you: surely the day will be Wednesday 12th, not Monday 10th, and I'm still not entirely sure I'll be able to organize the event. Excuse me : there are many things to do here, and in order not to disappoint you every time the commitment must increase, if you want the result to improve, but I have less and less time to dedicate to this dissemination activity, and therefore, despite the excellent technical-scientific support of a/symmetrie, which in turn has limited resources , I don't know if I will be able to keep the promise – and in any case I would keep it on 12, not on 10… )
(… on the other hand: the promise to meet for our annual convention on November 25 and 26 has been kept. But there we play at home, and it's also and above all our party, so organizing is less difficult, and the quality of the event you do it more than me… )
