All government plans to revive the Io App

Probably few, because the software, apart from the payment of fines, remains marginal and peripheral, especially since the state cashback has not even been renewed, which can be monitored precisely from that app. But soon it will present several new features.

The next time you access the Io App you may find your digital driving licence, digital health card and electoral card. This was announced by Alessio Butti , undersecretary to the Prime Minister with responsibility for Innovation, during a hearing before the Constitutional Affairs commission of the Chamber.

THE IO APP IN NUMBERS
According to the most recent data published by the Department for Digital Transformation, the IO App at the end of 2022 had been downloaded over 32 million times, with an average monthly user of over 6.5 million.
As regards the use of electronic payments through the pagoPA platform: in 2022, around 332 million transactions were carried out, with an economic value of over 61 billion euros.
But the Spid remains the preferred tool by the Italians (probably because it is the one with the most useful practical implications): in 2022, accesses to the software that allows, for example, authentication on the portals of the PA, were over 1 billion, while the authentications with CIE they are stopped at just 21 million.
