Proposals and slogans of the Democratic Party's electoral program

"Ideas win" is the campaign of a PD that has the courage to write its ideas in large letters. Without tactics, without frills, without puns. A PD who prefers to clearly tell his identity, rather than chasing or worse, insulting the opponent.

Italian workers earn on average 20% less than men for the same job. Despite this, they continue to suffer blackmail between professional growth and life choices such as motherhood. While access to top positions is a pipe dream for women, or worse, a concession.

Thanks to the PD, we now have a law on equal pay that guarantees women the right to have justice with respect to pay discrimination in the workplace. Thanks to transparency mechanisms and a reward for virtuous companies, we want to accompany a vital cultural change for our country. For women and their full realization. For Italy and its growth.

But having made the law is not enough. It must be applied and done well, so that wage equality is guaranteed for all. We can't stop now.

The labor market in Italy is profoundly unfair. More than 1 in 10 employees are not guaranteed by a collective agreement; in other circumstances, workers are forced to sign contracts that do not correspond to their actual job, with starvation wages and without any long-term protection. These people deserve a dignified present and future.

We will introduce a mandatory minimum wage for professions that today do not provide for collective agreements, we will prevent halter agreements and we will increase controls against those who pay for work without a contract and without social security protection.

We are experiencing one of the hottest summers ever, and it is certainly no coincidence. The climate emergency is a fact and puts access to food and water at risk, represents a widespread health risk and causes incalculable economic damage for our companies, starting with the agro-food sector.

It is on the policies for the protection of the Earth that the future of our country and of the entire civilization is at stake. On September 25, you will be able to decide whether to be on the side of the environment, as we do with conviction, or whether to support political forces who believe they can leave the solution to the problem to our children.

“How much do I have left in my pocket after paying the rent? Not enough".

Those who have to move to study, to undertake their first work experiences or to gain their independence too often find themselves in difficulty, due to the sharp rise in rental prices, especially in large cities. This prevents entire generations from building their own life project with serenity. We want to help young people to free themselves from this anxiety: in our program we have included a contribution of 2000 euros per year for students and workers under the age of 35 and who have a regular rental contract. The contribution is designed for those who have an ISEE of up to 20,000 euros. In concrete terms, it means helping 80% of young people who decide to rent a house.

Inflation in July marked 9.1% on the "shopping cart". This means that in a year almost a month's salary is eaten up by the increase in the cost of living, especially for the poorest families, who spend almost everything on essential goods.

We propose to return this month's salary to Italians with a cut on labor taxes, by acting on social security contributions. To immediately raise salaries and face an extraordinary situation with extraordinary tools. To ensure that taxpayers with very low incomes who already have IRPEF zeroed also benefit from it. And to help companies to hire and make investments with confidence.

In September, girls and boys will return to schools. They will study together, they will eat together, they will play together. Companions and classmates, who, however, are not the same for the law. Not even if they speak the same language, listen to the same music and have the same dreams. Because even today, the children of foreign parents encounter unjustified barriers in accessing citizenship, even when they were born in Italy, grew up in Italy and studied in Italy.

It is time to introduce a rule that is not just civilization: it is first of all common sense. Anyone who is the child of foreign parents and completes a cycle of studies in Italy becomes an Italian citizen: he is entitled to it, as each of us has a right.

For the right is never the time. We believe that Italy is already late. In recent years Italy has made progress on civil rights, but it is not enough. We have not been able to do more due to the very strong obstruction of right-wing parties. Millions of Italians and Italians ask nothing more than to live in a society that protects their freedom, that makes them feel truly at home.

The vote in the next political elections will determine the future of Italy also on these issues. We will promote an agenda on civil rights, starting with the immediate approval of a new Zan DDL, an egalitarian marriage and the extension of the anti-discrimination protections already in place in the field of access to work and goods and services also to discrimination based on orientation sexual and gender identity.

Guaranteeing a roof to live under, even for those living in conditions of economic fragility, is one of the cornerstones of any just society and any progressive party.

This is why we intend to support the construction of 500,000 social housing units over the next 10 years, using massive urban regeneration interventions to minimize land consumption and at the same time to give new life to the less well-kept spaces in our cities. Because beauty, dignity and social protection can go hand in hand.

The war in Ukraine has made our country's energy transition even more urgent. We need to produce energy from renewable sources, to reduce pollution, to make ourselves more independent on a geopolitical level and to pay our bills less.

We propose a national plan for the construction of new renewable parks, which will lead to the creation of 470 thousand 'green jobs' in 10 years. We want to eliminate the bureaucracy for companies that want to install solar panels in their plants and we will reduce the costs of the energy bill through a social light contract for families with medium-low income.

Internships were born as an opportunity for employment within one's own study path. More and more, over time, this measure has been used in a distorted way, to guarantee a workforce at no cost without offering any prospect and protection to workers in return.

No more cunning, no more blackmail. Extra-curricular internships will no longer be permitted by law; on the other hand, it will be possible to use paid apprenticeship contracts, the activation forms of which will be made increasingly simpler.

In August 2019, the League considered the general practitioner model to be 'outdated', showing no concern for the failure to replace 45,000 doctors who have reached retirement age in recent years.

The dramatic years of the pandemic showed all the myopia of this assessment and confirmed, on the contrary, the need for public health support, of quality and proximity, available for the entire population and throughout the Italian territory.

Through a health care recruitment plan we are committed to filling this gap in proximity assistance, felt by more and more Italians, in order to guarantee everyone access to this right, which today is very indispensable.

In Italy, one in ten children cannot access kindergarten due to the economic difficulties of their family. This creates the first hateful inequalities, already at a very young age, in access to suitable training and healthy nutrition.

We intend to erase this discrimination between children by making access to kindergarten free throughout the country, thus introducing the obligation and promoting equality in the first steps of their studies.
