All the latest products withdrawn from supermarkets for listeriosis risk (and not only)

It all started with frankfurters but the list of products withdrawn from the market is getting longer due to the risk of listeriosis, salmonella and "microbiological non-compliance" in general

The bacterium that causes listeriosis continues to be talked about and the list of finished products under the magnifying glass of the health authorities becomes more and more populated.

So here are the products withdrawn from supermarket shelves.

I WÜRSTEL

After the cases of listeriosis reported on 2 August by the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna regions to the European Commission's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (Rasff), the health authorities had mistakenly focused on a cheese, as responsible for the infections.

But the testimony of a patient, only on 12 September, led to the infamous sausages.

In particular, only batches 1785417 and 1810919 with the manufacturer's identification mark IT04MCE and expiration date from 20.09.2022 to 05.12.2022 were withdrawn as a precaution.

The sausages, produced by the Tre Valli farm, are marketed under different brands: Wudy Aia, Töbias di Eurospin, Salumeo di Lidl, Golo, Wurs, Pavo, Salchichia, AV5.

In the case of Wudy Aia, the packages that were part of the affected lots were Aia Wudy Classico Snack, Aia Wudy Cheese and Aia Wudy Classico.

TRAMEZZINI WITH SALMON

After the sausages, some packs of salmon and mayonnaise sandwiches from the Allegri Sapori brand also ended up in the sights. The Ministry of Health, which recommends "not to consume the product", has ordered the recall from the market of lots n. 22952 1 and n. 22952 2.

As with sausages, the suspicion is the "presence of Listeria monocytogenes".

THE PANCAKES

Just yesterday, with the same reason for recall, lot 256 of the chocolate pancakes of the French company Bernard Jarnoux Crepier ended up in the blacklist . In particular, the packs of 6 pieces (150 grams) with expiry date 11/10/2022.

NOT ONLY LISTERIOUS

If in all these cases the "microbiological non-compliance" was caused by the presence of the bacterium responsible for listeriosis, on the website of the Ministry of Health, there are also other types of recalls for products that it is advisable not to consume.

This is the case of Porchetta di Ariccia marketed by Supermercati Iperal Spa. The lot concerned is no. V233557 – 90 gram pack, with expiry date 14/10/2022. The manufacturing company is Prosciuttificio San Michele Srl

In lot no. 138/22 of Viviverde Coop organic sesame seeds in 250 gram packs and expiring on 05/2023, however, the salmonella risk reappears. The recall is precautionary after the Salmonella bacterium has been detected in one of the five sample units.

THE YELLOW OF THE MANDRAGORA

Alarm also for the 8 people intoxicated for taking suspected mandrake instead of spinach last week. The results of the laboratory tests are awaited, which will be carried out on some samples of leaves taken by the inspectors but so far no trace of poisonous grass has been detected in the 152 boxes of spinach seized.

On the website of the Ministry of Health, on the other hand, the recall for “regional alert” of batch 273 of Il Gigante spinach in 500 gram packs with expiry date 07/10/2022 produced by Spinerb di Colleoni Andrea in the province of Bergamo appears.
