If the pure electric cars maintain the market share of the previous months (3.1 percent), the plug-in hybrids see their share increase slightly, to 6.1 percent.

“Italy confirms its delays on the electric vehicle front compared to other European markets”, highlights Motus-E. “Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland and the United Kingdom record an increase in BEV sales compared to 2021, while registrations in Italy are plummeting. THE MOST SELLING ELECTRIC CARS IN ITALY
In the first five months of 2022 the best-selling electric car in Italy is the Fiat 500e, with 2796 units registered. In second place is the Dacia Spring, with 1875 vehicles, while in third place is the Smart Fortwo with 1696 units.
The ranking is closed by Tesla Model Y and Renault Zoe, with 951 and 811 units sold respectively.
