How are Stellantis' car sales (and beyond) in Europe

What the latest report on car registrations in the European Union says. Here are numbers and comparisons between houses and brands

According to the latest report by ACEA, the association of European automobile manufacturers, in August car registrations across the European Union fell by 19.1 percent compared to the same month of 2020: 622,993 units in all.

HOW DO ITALY, GERMANY, FRANCE AND SPAIN GO

For the second month in a row, the association explains, the main European car markets recorded double-digit drops: -28.9 per cent in Spain; – 27.3 per cent in Italy; -23 percent in Germany; -15 percent in France.

However, considering the first eight months of 2021, on an annual basis, sales volumes grew by 11.2 percent: that is, 6.8 million new cars in total. The summer months have proved to be very weak for the European Union, but overall the situation is positive. All four of the major markets seen above have so far reported growth rates compared to 2020: above all Italy, with +30.9 per cent; followed by France (+ 12.8%), Spain (+ 12.1%) and Germany (+ 2.5%).

THE NUMBERS OF ITALY
