FLOWS DECREE: ALL ENTRY OF THE LAST 10 YEARS

In 2014 the flow decree had foreseen the entry of only 17,850 people for non-seasonal jobs and 15 thousand for seasonal jobs. In 2015 the borders opened only for 15 thousand seasonal workers while in 2016 they returned to 17,850 people for non-seasonal jobs and 15 thousand for seasonal jobs. In 2017 the share of seasonal and non-seasonal workers fell to 30,850 units, as in 2018 , 2019 and 2020 . The numbers start to rise starting from 2021 when up to 69,700 people can enter our country divided between 27,700 non-seasonal and 42 thousand seasonal. In 2022 the figures rise again: the flow decree authorizes 75,705 entries for work (of which 44,000 for seasonal work) and 7,000 conversions of residence permits, for a total of 82,705 people. Last year, in 2023 , our country welcomed 136,000 non-EU workers, of which 52,770 entries for non-seasonal work, 680 entries for self-employed work and 82,550 entries for seasonal subordinate work.

WHEN TO APPLY

As reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies :

from 9:00 on 18 March, applications can be sent for non-seasonal employed workers who are citizens of countries that have cooperation agreements with Italy;
from 9:00 on March 21st applications for other non-seasonal subordinate workers can be sent;
from 9:00 on March 25th, applications for workers can be sent

HOW TO APPLY

Interested parties can fill out the application forms by accessing the Ministry of the Interior website via Spid or Cie. Applications can be submitted until 31 December 2024.

THE CRITICAL ISSUES OF THE FLOWS DECREE

The authorizations to enter Italy are distributed until quotas are exhausted, a mechanism also used for the attribution of some bonuses or services (such as the psychologist bonus) and which rewards the fastest. The decree also aims to remedy the conditions of foreigners already resident in Italy without a residence permit.
