Cdp Venture Capital launches Forward Factory, the accelerator dedicated to startups that develop products or solutions in the digital manufacturing field. The call for startups will be open until April 8, 2022
Cdp Venture Capital (70% Cdp Equity and 30% Invitalia) has announced the launch of Forward Factory, the accelerator dedicated to startups that develop products or solutions in the digital manufacturing field, created together with Gellify, Azimut Libera Impresa through Digitech Fund and others eight companies operating in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
HOW FORWARD FACTORY WILL WORK
Born from an initiative of Cdp Venture Capital through its Accelerators Fund, Forward Factory will be managed by Gellify, an innovation platform that connects high-tech B2B startups with established companies to innovate their processes, products and business models.
THE TARGET
The launch of Forward Factory is part of the strategy of the National Accelerators Network of Cdp which is developed in the main technological districts of the Italian territory to support the development of skills and entrepreneurship in the innovation sector.
HOW THE PROJECT IS STRUCTURED
With a total budget of 8.64 million euros, of which 3.57 million for subsequent follow-on after acceleration, the Forward Factory program extends over a period of 3 years, involving about 10 startups each year, which will be able to access a path lasting 6 months aimed at consolidating its entry on the market.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The program is aimed at seed and early stage startups able to offer digital services to innovate manufacturing production processes through blockchain, AR, VR, industrial IoT, AI and big data, cyber security, cloud computing and digital robotics.
HOW TO APPLY
Forward Factory will be based in Casalecchio di Reno at the Phygital Hub Gellify and can be followed by the participating startups in hybrid mode: physical and digital.
The call for the selection of the first 10 startups is open from today until April 8, 2022 at the website www.forwardfactory.io . It is possible to apply for Italian and international startups that intend to open a registered office in Italy.
WHO ARE THE PARTNERS OF THE PROJECT
Forward Factory sees the participation of eight corporate partners and investors:
- Azimut Libera Impresa, an integrated platform of products and services dedicated to both entrepreneurs / SMEs and investors / savers;
- Comer Industries, a global player in the design and production of advanced engineering systems and mechatronics solutions for power transmission operating in the sectors of agricultural machinery, construction equipment and forestry, energy and industry;
- Angelini Industries, a multinational operating in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, industrial machinery, perfumery and dermocosmetics and wine sectors;
- SCM Group, specialized in technologies for processing wood, plastic, glass, stone, metal and composite materials and industrial components;
- Vis Hydraulics, a manufacturer of hydraulic valves;
- Poggipolini, a metalworking company specializing in titanium processing with which it produces screws and components for the automotive, aeronautical and aerospace industries;
- Auxiell, in the dual role of investor, ecosystem enabler in the context of lean production;
- Industrio Ventures, accelerator specialized in hardware startups;
- EIT Manufacturing, ecosystem of the main European manufacturing players, as ecosystem enabler.

HOW STARTUPS WILL BENEFIT
During the acceleration program, startups will have the opportunity to access vertical content to grow from an entrepreneurial and technical point of view, working side by side with program managers, ecosystem enablers and investing manufacturing companies up to the design and implementation of a POC (Proof-of-Concept) together with them, which each startup will be able to present and enhance during the final Demo Day.
