What happens at the Abi table for the new banking contract

What happens at the Abi table for the new banking contract

Facts and rumors on the negotiations for the renewal of the national employment contract of the 280 thousand employees of Italian banks such as Intesa Sanpaolo, Unicredit, Montepaschi, Banco Bpm, Bper, Credit Agricole and Bnl Bnp Paribas. The facts and trade union indiscretions

The match for the renewal of the national collective labor agreement for bankers will start again on 11 and 12 October. These are two key dates: on that occasion, in fact, the ABI will have to respond point by point to the requests presented by the unions and packaged in the platform.

The request for timely and motivated responses arrived last week, in the last meeting at Palazzo Altieri, headquarters of the Banking Association in Rome. On that occasion, the representatives of the Trade Union and Labor Affairs Committee of the Abi itself presented a document, a sort of counter-platform which was not at all appreciated by the general secretaries of Fabi, First Cisl, Fisac Cgil, Uilca and Unisin, Lando Maria Sileoni , Riccardo Colombani, Susy Esposito, Fulvio Furlan and Emilio Contrasto.

The most relevant theme remains economic growth. The request for an average of 435 euros per month put forward by the unions was supported by the CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, Carlo Messina (in the photo), while the other big names are taking refuge behind the ABI for now. A waiting position, however, that cannot last long. But there is not only the issue of wages to be resolved, considering that the regulatory part of the contract, taking into account the needs of transformation and reorganization of the large banking groups, still takes on a significant weight in the context of the entire negotiation.

Much will depend on the final outcome of the negotiations on the ability of the president of the CASL, Ilaria Dalla Riva (Unicredit), to find a solution on the banking front. As regards the other part of the table, we look at the balance and also at what happens within the individual groups. The eyes of professionals have been focused on Unisin for a few days: the least representative acronym of the banking sector, in fact, is losing its share in Bnl Bnp Paribas. It seems that around a hundred members have just decided to switch to Fabi and other credit organisations. And that other employees of the same National Labor Bank are about to follow them. The matter annoys – and not a little – Tommaso Vigliotti, national secretary of Unisin. Well-informed sources report that the trade unionist, coordinator of Unisin in Bnl, was sensationally shocked by the flight of members.

Beyond the events at Bnl, the negotiations for the renewal of the national contract continue. See you on the next episode.
