“Arrogant and megalomaniac”: this is Germany for the Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin

Furthermore, the ambassador spoke of " German arrogance and megalomania, with which one of the leaders of the Bundeswehr dreams of a holy alliance with the war criminal Putin and a modern German-Russian crusade against China " .

Indeed, German foreign policy on the issue has been seen by many as double and unreliable: after all, having the SPD in government in Germany means having the slice of German politics that does business with Putin and, therefore, tries not to irritate him excessively. The problem is that you cannot proclaim everywhere in favor of Ukraine, even in Brussels, and then put a spoke in the wheel of allies most determined to intervene. We have long talked about German duplicity, about how Berlin is as reliable a NATO member, if not less than Ankara. This is not a critique of Berlin's political choices, which can also be understandable and in part shareable, but it should be done in an open way. Scholz should openly say that he does not agree with NATO policy in Ukraine and start a serious discussion on the matter, otherwise Germany will be just another weak link in an alliance that seems less sensible every day.
