One thing is certain: the pressure on Commission President von der Leyen has increased enormously in recent days in view of the worsening migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. Several thousand illegal migrants from predominantly Arab countries on the territory of Belarus are trying to break through the border barriers with Poland and thus also enter the EU.

Now on the one hand the Legal Services of the Commission have confirmed the lawfulness of the financing, on the other hand countries like Lithuania, which has a 700 km border with Belarus, could never afford to finance a border wall on their own.
